I’ve been a Los Angeles based camera operator for Film/TV/Commercials/Music Videos for over 30 years. I started my career shooting hundreds of music videos for artists like Madonna, Radiohead, Whitney Houston, Prince, Green Day, Blink 182, Beyonce, Weezer, The Offspring, Korn, No Doubt, Lady Gaga, Smashmouth, Everclear, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, REM, Jaz-Z, Goo Goo Dolls, Dr. Dre, Matchbox 20, Lil Wayne, The Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, Creed, Boys II Men, Sugar Ray, Coolio, Wallflowers…and everything in between. If you watched MTV and VH1 in the 90s and early 2000s, there's a good chance that many of the images you remember were framed by my hand.
My career shifted to feature films and television around 2005, and I’ve shot feature films like Tropic Thunder, Inception, Iron Man 3, Fantastic Four, Ender’s Game, Water for Elephants, Evan Almighty, Wonder Woman 1884, and TV shows like Breaking Bad, Ray Donovan, Animal Kingdom, The Afterparty, and Star Trek Picard. Along the way, I’ve worked with multiple Emmy and Oscar-winning and nominated directors and directors of photography, allowing me to hone my craft and learn framing and lighting from the best visual storytellers in the world.
During the months-long SAG (actors) and WGA (writers) strikes a couple of years ago, I started looking for a creative outlet for my time, something to keep my eye sharp, while allowing me the freedom to showcase the world as I see it. I was already attending more concerts than anyone I knew, so bringing my cameras into the pit was the next logical next step. Concert photography combines two of my favorite things, live music and creating images that tell a story - the inevitable headbanging that goes with it is an added bonus.
Fast forward to today. I still happily work for the studios, but I’m always looking for opportunities to photograph bands on tour whenever I have a break between film projects. Please check out the photos on the site, and if you like what you see, send me an email through the CONTACT page to see if I’d be a good fit for your next show or tour.
